Air Mekong to start non-stop route from Hanoi to Phu Quoc

Private carrier Air Mekong will start a non-stop route next Thursday from Hanoi to the southern island of Phu Quoc, news website VnExpress reported.

This is the longest domestic route offered, and it will cut the flying time in half by avoiding a transfer in Ho Chi Minh City, it said.

Air Mekong will use the Bombadier CRJ 900 plane with the capacity of 90 seats, and the ticket is priced at around VND2.2 million (US$108.73).

The airliner launched its first flight last October with 14 domestic routes, and plans to add 50 more planes by 2014, according to VnExpress.
